Josh Robins
partner
I'm Josh Robins, partner at Hilltop Builders alongside Shaun Aschenbach — a friendship and partnership that started back in ninth grade and carried us through college at SMU in Dallas. Together, we bring over 15 years of experience building high-end custom homes, major renovations, and historic restorations throughout the D.C. area — the place I’m proud to call home. At Hilltop, we believe great homes are built on craftsmanship, clear communication, and strong collaboration.
We work closely with talented architects, designers, subcontractors, and homeowners, staying hands-on through every phase of a project — from pre-construction planning to well after move-in day.
We focus on the details, solving challenges as they come, and sourcing the best materials and products to ensure every home we build stands the test of time. Our values are simple: quality craftsmanship, efficient project management, honesty, and keeping our clients informed at every step.
When I’m not working, I’m with my wife Andrea and our two boys, Brady and Jackson — they’re a big part of why building lasting homes matters so much to me.

Shaun Aschenbach
Partner
I'm Shaun Aschenbach, partner at Hilltop Builders. Josh Robins and I go way back — we met in ninth grade at Bullis and later attended SMU together in Dallas. After college, we spent over 15 years working side by side in the building industry, managing large-scale renovations and custom home projects before launching Hilltop. That foundation gave us a real-world understanding of what it takes to bring thoughtful, high-quality homes to life.
At Hilltop, I’m driven by a commitment to craftsmanship and a focus on delivering a smooth, clear experience for our clients. I care deeply about the process — making sure every detail is finished properly, and that homeowners feel informed, confident, and supported at every stage of their project. To me, a great build isn’t just about how it looks when it’s done — it’s about how well it’s built from the start.
Family is a huge part of who I am. I live in the D.C. area with my wife Morgan, our three kids — Jack, Graham, and Natalie — and our dog, Duke. That perspective shapes how I approach every project: with care, dedication, and an understanding that building a home is about creating a lasting foundation for the families who live there.
